LOCATIONS

Welcome to UnBar Cafe, a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Cleveland at 12635 Larchmere Blvd. As a food reviewer for Restaurant World, I am enchanted by the ambiance and the unique offerings of this Black-owned cafe. You find yourself stepping into a space that feels both cozy and inviting—a haven for coffee enthusiasts, plant lovers, and anyone in search of a satisfying meal.

What truly stands out at UnBar Cafe is not only the diverse menu but also the sense of community fostered by the friendly staff. Take a cue from customers like Lashona Birks, who raves about the delicious house-made sodas and the warm atmosphere created by the attentive staff. It’s clear that this is more than just a cafe; it’s a place where you can feel at home.

On my visit, I was drawn to the menu’s charm, featuring everything from rich coffees to impressive vegan options, like the hauss-made vegan polish boy that Nicole Crenshaw recommends. Equally alluring were the pastries showcased daily—particularly the butter rum muffin praised by Klarissa Morter. Prices here are refreshingly affordable, making it a perfect choice for breakfast or a light lunch without breaking the bank.

UnBar Cafe also brings creativity to the table—a customer noted their mindfully sourced baby plants up for sale, complete with pet-friendly descriptions. Consider sitting inside, where the atmosphere, rich with local character, encourages relaxation or productivity. Their coffee is more than just a start to your day; it becomes a ritual, especially in a neighborhood that embraces local businesses over corporate giants, as highlighted by brian sours.

And let’s not forget the warmth of Kelly B's experience, where the staff graciously accommodated a family awaiting a wedding reception, turning a potentially stressful day into a pleasant, memorable one. This speaks volumes about the people behind UnBar Cafe and their commitment to customer satisfaction.

As I reflect on my visits to UnBar Cafe, I cannot help but admire the blend of quality, service, and community spirit. Each cup of coffee and each plate served here tells a story of passion and dedication. For anyone seeking a rejuvenating break or a mode of connectivity, I wholeheartedly recommend making your way to UnBar Cafe. Indulge in their offerings, soak in the atmosphere, and perhaps even join a local event or poetry night—the experience is bound to be as uplifting as it is delicious.

Don't just take my word for it; come and discover why UnBar Cafe is the perfect backdrop for your next coffee rendezvous.

Love the atmosphere. Coffee was great. Tried their house made soda...both were delicious. The worker (I'm not sure of a correct title, she was the cook & cashier) was so friendly and pleasant. She made us feel welcomed. The beef hot dog was tasty, but the star of the show was the sodas & our service. Will definitely be returning.

We came out here to go to Loganberry Bookstore and realized they didn’t open until 12pm. Stumbled on this cafe and it was awesome all around. Highly recommend the butter rum muffin, and they even have some beautiful baby plants for sale. The plants each have a little description and tell you if they’re pet friendly. The staff was very calm and polite, we were greeted by a customer coming in, and just overall it’s a great atmosphere. Highly recommend coming here and sitting in for your breakfast and coffee. It was also super affordable. We got a latte, a lemon ginger tea, and the muffin for 11. That would have been like 16-20 at Starbucks. They also had wine, lunch, and more that we didn’t try but I’d imagine is amazing! Oh and I’d like to note they even had little community use things like a printer. This is like a cafe out of a movie that has everything one needs :)

Great little neighborhood place. Very cute, friendly staff. Got a too good to go bag from here and I'd rate it 10/10. Will definitely return to try more menu options!

The owner and staff of the cafe were so gracious and accommodating to my family when we were looking for a place to hang out between a wedding and the reception. Even though they were closed for a private event, they went above and beyond and made space for us when they had no obligation to. The coffee and pastries were delicious as well. I would definitely recommend to his cafe!

Wow what an incredible place for coffee, pie and even wine!! Awesome atmosphere and the owners are incredible and kind. I loved their coffee and sweet potato pie. Would love to spend time working for a few hours and visits again. And its location near Loganberry is also a plus! Must stop!

I should state first that the person who made these waffles left in 2022 or 2023, so they're no longer served. Anyways, I always enjoyed coming to unbar cafe since it's a Black-owned, nice spot. The only complaint I have is how no one on the staff, save one person, ever recognized me despite the fact that I went there regularly and attended the poetry nights.

So much to choose from. There’s cute gifts, great food, and coffee and tea to choose from. There were tons of vegan options. I got the vegan polish boy and its was amazing. I wonder if the BBQ sauce is made in house. It was sweet with a little kick to it. They have seating inside as well for those who want to sit and eat or do some work.

Nice place to have a drink and a bite to eat. Also, good place to spend money and make sure more of it stays local, rather than going into the pockets of billionaires and stockholders. All of the employees were friendly and helpful.
